Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this here Interstate Brick Co. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it ain’t nothin’ more than a brick makin’ place, far as I can tell. They got themselves two of ’em, two places, you know? Don’t ask me where, ’cause I ain’t got no map. But they’re out there, makin’ bricks.
Now, I heard tell they used to be called somethin’ else, Salt Lake somethin’ or other. Pressed Brick, I think. That was back in Utah, way back when. But now they’re Interstate, and they’re the only ones makin’ bricks in Utah, so they say. Big too, the biggest in America, one big ol’ plant. Can you imagine that? All them bricks, stacked up high, must be somethin’ to see.
And these ain’t just any ol’ bricks, mind you. They say these here bricks can stand up to anythin’, even the worst weather. Severe weather, that’s what they call it. Tornadoes, hurricanes, you name it. These bricks, they’ll stay put. They even say these bricks will last for 200 years! That’s a long time, longer than I’ll be around, that’s for sure.
They got all sorts of bricks, I reckon. Different sizes and shapes. I heard ’em talkin’ ’bout “modular” bricks. Sounds complicated, but it just means they’re a certain size, see? Like 2 and a quarter inches tall, and 7 and 5/8 inches long. And then there’s the “closure” bricks, square-like, 4 by 4 by 8 inches, they say. I ain’t measured ’em myself, mind you, but that’s what they say.
Then there’s this other brick company, Belden Brick, over in Ohio. Don’t know much about them, but they make bricks too. Seems like there’s a lot of brick makin’ goin’ on. And they talk about “modular” bricks too, same size as them Interstate fellas, mostly for big buildin’s, but folks are usin’ ’em for houses now too.
- Interstate Brick has two locations.
- They used to be called Salt Lake Pressed Brick Co.
- They’re the only brick maker in Utah, and the biggest in America.
- Their bricks are made to withstand severe weather and last for 200 years.
- They make different size bricks, including modular and closure bricks.
- Belden Brick in Ohio also makes modular bricks.
Now, a regular brick in America, they say it’s 3 and 5/8 inches deep, and 2 and a quarter inches high. That’s what they told me, anyhow. Seems like there’s a lot to know about bricks, more than I ever thought. But it all comes down to this: they’re for buildin’ things, houses, stores, whatever you need. And Interstate Brick, well, they seem to be pretty good at makin’ ’em.
I reckon that’s about all I know ’bout this here Interstate Brick Co. They make bricks, strong bricks, in Utah. And that’s the long and short of it. Nothin’ fancy, just good, sturdy bricks.
If you need bricks that last, seems like Interstate is the place to go. Though, mind you, I ain’t never built nothin’ bigger than a chicken coop in my life, but even I know you need good bricks for that!
They say their bricks are best for all kind of weather. So if it rains, snows, or shines real hard, those bricks will hold up. That’s what’s important, right? Having a strong house that keeps you safe and warm. And good bricks will help with that.
So, that’s the story of Interstate Brick Co. as far as this ol’ lady knows it. They make bricks, good ones, and that’s all that matters.
