Well, howdy there! You wanna know where to get cheap bricks, huh? Lemme tell ya, it ain’t always easy, but I’ve seen a thing or two in my time. Folks always tryin’ to save a penny, and bricks, well, they ain’t cheap unless you know where to look.
First off, you gotta figure what kinda bricks you need. Red bricks? Them’s the common ones, like what you see in most houses ’round here. They’re usually the cheapest, but even then, the price can jump around. I heard tell they go for somethin’ like forty cents to almost a dollar a brick, or maybe four hundred to nine hundred dollars for a thousand of ’em. That’s a lot of money if you ask me, even if it sounds cheap for a whole bunch of ‘em.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for fancy bricks, well, that’s a whole different story. Them fancy ones, they can cost a pretty penny. But if you just need somethin’ to get the job done, red bricks is the way to go. But even with red bricks, you wanna make sure they ain’t all cracked and busted up. Some places try to sell ya them “third class” bricks, they call ’em. Stay away from them. They’re all crooked and cracked, won’t do ya no good.
- Look for sales and discounts. Sometimes them big stores, like that Walmart place, they have sales on building stuff. You gotta keep an eye out, though. Them sales don’t last long.
- Check out the salvage yards. You know, where they tear down old buildings? Sometimes you can find good bricks there, real cheap. But you gotta be careful, some of them might be too beat up to use. And you might have to do some diggin’ around, it ain’t always easy to find what you need.
- Ask around. Your neighbors, folks you know, they might know somebody sellin’ bricks cheap. Word of mouth, that’s how things get done ’round here. You never know, somebody might have a whole pile of bricks they don’t need, and they’ll let ’em go for a song. Or they tell you don’t buy from so and so, them bricks are junk or they overcharge you too much.
I remember one time, my nephew, he was buildin’ a shed. He went and bought a whole bunch of bricks from one of them fancy stores, paid through the nose for ’em. Then he found out his neighbor had a pile of bricks just sittin’ there, goin’ to waste. Coulda saved himself a bundle if he’d just asked around first. Folks gotta be smart about their money, you know?
Some folks, they talk about buyin’ them Lego bricks, little plastic things for the kids. I don’t know nothin’ about them, but I hear they can be expensive too. If you’re lookin’ for them, I guess you gotta go to a toy store or somethin’. But that ain’t real bricks, that’s just playthings. We’re talkin’ about real bricks here, the kind you build houses and walls with.
Now, there’s this cement brick thing too. I hear they’re good for building but they cost a lot and they not the same as them red bricks. Honestly, I don’t see why you just don’t stick with the red ones. They’re cheaper and people have been using them for I don’t know how many years. Always seems to work out just fine. I ain’t ever seen a cement house last longer than a regular red brick house. And don’t get me started on wood houses. Those are firetraps I tell you.
So, if you’re lookin’ for cheap bricks, you gotta be willin’ to do some work. You gotta shop around, ask around, and maybe even dig around a little. But trust me, it’s worth it in the end. Nothin’ feels better than gettin’ a good deal, especially on somethin’ like bricks, that you need to build somethin’ strong and lastin’. And don’t go for them fancy bricks unless you got money to burn. Red bricks are just fine, they worked for my pappy and they worked for me. They’ll work for you too.
And remember, always check the bricks afore you buy ’em. Make sure they ain’t cracked or chipped. You want good, solid bricks, that’s gonna hold up for years to come. Don’t let nobody sell you a bunch of junk. You’re smarter than that. You know what you need, and you know how to find it. Just gotta put in a little effort, that’s all. And don’t be afraid to haggle a little. Sometimes you can talk ’em down on the price, especially if you’re buyin’ a lot. That’s how it’s done ’round here. A little bit of charm and a whole lot of common sense. That’s all you need to find some cheap bricks and get your buildin’ done right.
I hope that helps you out some. Building something whether its big or small, should not be such a big expense if you know how to do it properly. Just make sure that whatever it is, it is solid and ain’t falling apart. The last thing you want is a wall or whatever it is that you buildin’ falling apart after a week. And if you get them cheap bricks like I tell ya, you save some money and it will all be worth it in the end, trust me, I’m a professional… Just kidding, but still I know what I’m talking about.
