Today, I wanna talk about something that took up a good chunk of my weekend – messing around with bricks. Yeah, you heard that right, bricks! Not the fancy construction kind, but the good old LEGO bricks that we all know and love from when we were kids.
It all started when I stumbled upon this old box in the attic. Dusty, forgotten, but filled with colorful LEGO bricks. I thought, “Why not?” and just like that, I was a kid again, sitting on the floor, surrounded by these little plastic pieces of joy.
First off, I sorted them out. It was a mess! All mixed up, different colors and sizes. It took a while, but I got them all separated into little piles. Blues here, reds there, some weird-shaped ones in another pile. It was kind of therapeutic, you know? Just getting things organized.
- Created a small tub for storing bulk bricks.
- Picked a minifig from the Minifig Maker.
Then came the fun part – building stuff. I didn’t have any instructions or anything, so I just let my imagination run wild. Started with a simple wall, then it turned into a little house. I even tried making a car, but let’s just say it didn’t really look like one. But hey, it was fun!
I spent hours just playing around with different combinations. It’s amazing how these little bricks can be turned into almost anything. You just gotta put your mind to it. I even tried to get my dog involved, but he was more interested in chewing them than building. Can’t blame him, I guess.
Get Everyone Involved
I also tried to get my family involved. You know, make it a family activity. My wife helped me build the wall and we used colorful paint to draw. The kids were all over it. They were building some crazy stuff, things I wouldn’t even think of. It was cool to see them get creative and just have fun with it.
By the end of the day, we had all these little creations scattered around the living room. It was a mess, but a good kind of mess. We laughed, we got frustrated when a piece wouldn’t fit, and we were proud of our little brick world.
So, that was my weekend. Just playing with bricks, and getting everyone in on the fun. It reminded me that sometimes, it’s the simple things that bring the most joy. And hey, if you’ve got some old LEGOs lying around, give it a try. You might surprise yourself with what you can come up with!
