Today, I’m gonna talk about something called “amp brick.” It’s not exactly rocket science, but it was a bit of a head-scratcher for me at first. I needed some brickwork done on my property, and man, was it a journey.
First off, I spent hours digging around to find a decent brick company. Turns out, there are tons of them out there. I wanted someone local, you know, someone who knew the area. I came across this company, I think it was called “American Brick Company” or “Ambrico” something like that. They seemed to be all about thin brick and installation, but my project was a bit more involved.
So, I started making calls. Talked to a bunch of folks. There was this one company, “James Ryan Masonry” or maybe it was “JMK Construction” – honestly, they all started to blend together after a while. They were in Buffalo, which was a bit of a drive, but I was getting desperate.
Then there was “Felgemacher Masonry & Chimney of Buffalo,” and another one called “Brick By Brick Masonry Restoration.” They all claimed to be the best, but how do you really know? I was drowning in a sea of brick options!
I even stumbled upon some info about a “BIA member” making a lot of the brick in the US. Apparently, over 70% of the stuff comes from them. Who knew there was so much to brick?
Finally, I found a local company called “JD Brick Fencing, Inc” in Tonawanda. I drove down to 330 Fillmore Ave, which is their location, to have a look. They did all sorts of fencing – vinyl, chain link, aluminum, the whole nine yards. They also did fence removal and railing installation. This was closer to what I needed.
But it was not an easy task. I kept looking. I found a company that specializes in national expansion and choosing the right location, even the right building. They seem to be really professional. I think it might have been AM-PS. But they are not what I need, obviously.
Finally I got what I wanted, they are pros, and the price was reasonable, everything was done quickly, and I was happy. So, I hope my little adventure in the world of bricks helps someone out there. It can be a real maze, but with a bit of persistence, you can find what you’re looking for. Good luck, folks!
