Alright, so you wanna know about this Brickhouse Studios, huh? Let me tell ya, it’s a place, you know, where them young’uns go to dance and sing and whatnot. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a building, I reckon, with lots of rooms. They call ‘em studios, like in them movies.
I heard tell it’s in Glasgow, that big city. Somewhere called Port Dundas, or somethin’ like that. Easy to get to, they say, just a short walk from the middle of town. Guess that’s good for them city folk who don’t got cars.
Now, what do they do there? Well, it’s mostly dancin’ and singin’, from what I gather. They got these courses, like school, but for dancers and singers. Big fancy names, like “Professional Dance Performance” and “Musical Theatre.” Sounds like a lot of hoity-toity stuff to me, but them kids seem to like it.
They learn all sorts of things, I bet. How to move their bodies all graceful-like, and how to sing them songs real loud. They even put on shows, you know, like them plays they used to have at the town hall. Only these are fancier, with costumes and lights and all that jazz.
- They got different shows all the time, I hear. One was called “Red Right Hand,” somethin’ mysterious, I guess.
- And another one was called “What A Clown!” Probably about them funny fellas with the big red noses.
And get this, they even got a school there, called Dancepoint Musical Theatre School. It’s right there in the Brickhouse Studios building. So, the young’uns can learn and practice all in the same place, ain’t that convenient? They got four of them studio rooms, so plenty of space for everyone to jump around and make noise.
They also have these camps, like, for a few days. Intensive, they call ‘em. Them kids go there and learn real hard, singin’ and dancin’ all day long. Some teachers from Hamilton Theatre Arts come and teach ‘em. Sounds like hard work to me, but I guess them young’uns are full of energy.
Brickhouse Studios is on Farnell Street, number 19. If you ever need to find it, that’s where it is. They got a fancy address too, somethin’ with letters and numbers, G4 9SE. City folk and their codes, I tell ya. But I guess it helps them find things in that big mess of streets and buildings. If you wanna go see a show or somethin’ you can get tickets, I hear. Just ask around, someone will know how to get ‘em.
So, that’s about all I know about Brickhouse Studios. It’s a place for singin’ and dancin’, learnin’ and performin’. Lots of young’uns go there, and they seem to have a good time. It’s a busy place, always somethin’ goin’ on. If you like that sort of thing, maybe you should go check it out. Just don’t expect me to go with ya, my dancin’ days are long gone!
It sounds like a good place for them talented young people, keeps them out of trouble and gives them something to do. And who knows, maybe one day they’ll be famous stars! But to me it’s just a building with a lot of noise and excitement. Still, good for them youngsters, I say.
They even had a thingamajig there, a camp it was, just this past July, in 2023. Three days of singing and dancing, can you imagine? Those kids must have been worn out! But I bet they learned a lot and had a good time too. That’s what matters, right? Keepin’ busy and learnin’ new things.
