Yesterday, I decided to build a fire pit in my backyard, and I needed to get some fire bricks. I remembered seeing them at Home Depot before, so I figured I’d start there.
When I got to Home Depot, I went straight to the garden center. They usually keep stuff like bricks and pavers there. Sure enough, I saw a bunch of regular bricks, but no fire bricks. So, I found an employee and asked them where I could find fire bricks.
The guy I talked to seemed a little confused at first. He said, “Fire bricks? What are you using them for?” I explained that I was building a fire pit and needed bricks that could handle high heat. He thought for a moment and then said, “Oh, yeah, we do have those, but they’re not with the regular bricks.”
He then led me to a different aisle, over by the fireplace and stove stuff. There, I saw a small display of fire bricks. They were a bit more expensive than regular bricks, but not too bad. I grabbed a cart and started loading it up with the bricks I needed.
While I was loading the bricks, another customer came by and asked me what I was building. I told him about my fire pit project, and he mentioned that he had built one a few years ago. He gave me a few tips on how to make it last longer, like using a metal ring to line the inside of the pit. I thanked him for the advice and finished loading up my cart.
Checkout
I headed to the checkout, and the cashier rang up my purchase. I paid for the bricks and then went to get my car. The bricks were pretty heavy, so it took me a few trips to load them all into my trunk. Once I had everything loaded, I drove home, eager to start building my fire pit.
