Well, let me tell ya ’bout these here light weight bricks. Folks been talkin’ ’bout ’em, so I figured I’d learn a thing or two. Now, I ain’t no fancy builder or nothin’, but I know what’s what when it comes to makin’ things sturdy.
These light weight bricks, they ain’t like the heavy ol’ bricks my grandpappy used. Them old ones, they’d break your back just carryin’ a few. These newfangled ones, they’re much lighter. They say it makes ’em easier to work with. Easier to handle, they say. Well, I reckon that’s true. Less back-breakin’ work is always a good thing, I say.
Now, some folks might worry that lighter means weaker. But from what I hear, that ain’t the case. They make these bricks from all sorts of stuff – clay, shale, and even somethin’ they call fly ash. Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, but they say it makes ’em strong. They also put air bubbles in the mix, I heard, to make them light. Clever, them city folks, I gotta say.
- They say these bricks are strong enough to hold up a house, same as the old ones.
- They can handle a whole heap of weight, thousands of pounds, they say.
- Makes you wonder how somethin’ so light can be so tough.
They also say these light weight bricks are good for keepin’ your house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Good insulation, they call it. Keeps the heat in and the cold out, or the other way around, dependin’ on the season. That sounds mighty fine to me. Nothin’ worse than a drafty house in the dead of winter.
And get this, they say these bricks are better for the environment. Less pollution when they make ’em and less energy to haul ’em around. Environmentally friendly, that’s the word they use. Well, I reckon we should all do our part to keep the earth clean. If these bricks can help with that, then I say it’s a good thing. Save some trees, maybe.
Now, they come in all sorts of colors too, not just that plain ol’ red. Red, orange, blue…you name it. Makes a house look fancy, I suppose. But me, I ain’t too concerned with fancy colors. I just want a house that’s sturdy and warm. And these light weight bricks, they seem to fit the bill.
I also heard about some thin bricks too, not thick ones. They say them thin ones are used on the outside walls, to make things look pretty. Almost five times thinner than the reglar ones, they say. Imagine that! Thin as a pancake, but still strong enough to do the job. It’s amazing what they can do these days.
They use these light weight bricks for all kinds of buildin’s, not just houses. Big buildin’s, small buildin’s, it don’t matter. They even use ’em for them concrete blocks, I heard, to make ’em lighter too. Lightweight concrete blocks, that’s what they call ’em. Makes sense, I guess. Lighter is better when you gotta haul that stuff around all day.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know ’bout these light weight bricks. They’re light, they’re strong, they’re good for keepin’ warm, and they’re good for the environment. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Maybe next time I build somethin’, I’ll give ’em a try. Or maybe not. I’m gettin’ too old for all that heavy liftin’ anyway.
But if you’re young and strong, or you’re just lookin’ for a better way to build, then I reckon these light weight bricks are worth lookin’ into. They seem like the way of the future, from what I hear. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple.
