Alright, folks, gather ’round! Today, I’m gonna share my little adventure of building an outdoor brick bread oven. Now, I ain’t no professional, just a regular guy who likes to get his hands dirty and bake some darn good bread. So, if I can do it, you can too!
First things first, I had to figure out where to put this thing. You want a nice spot in your backyard, not too close to the house, and preferably somewhere that gets a good amount of sun. Once I picked my spot, I started by marking out the area and digging a foundation. It was a bit of work, but hey, who needs a gym membership when you’ve got a shovel and some bricks, right?
Laying the Foundation
After digging, I poured a concrete slab for the base. I mixed the concrete myself – it’s cheaper that way and gives you a good workout. I let that cure for a few days, just to make sure it was rock solid. During the curing I made sure to keep it moist at all times, which seemed to be a smart move.
