I got into this whole LEGO thing a while back, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. Started with those simple bricks everyone knows, the ones you just stack up. But then I stumbled upon these things called “Technic” parts. They’re different, man. More about beams and pins, not just stacking. Makes you think differently about building, you know?
So, I started digging deeper. Turns out, LEGO’s got this whole line called the “LEGO System”. That’s the classic stuff, the bricks we all picture when we hear “LEGO”. Found out there are tons of different parts out there. They’ve got lists and everything to keep track of it all. Gets pretty intense if you really get into it.
I started collecting, not just building, mind you, but really collecting. Got into the whole marketplace thing. It’s huge. There are online stores specifically for this stuff. People selling all kinds of parts, minifigures, you name it. I even thought about setting up my own shop for a bit. You gotta figure out how to navigate all that, set up your store, the whole nine yards.
I even got the attention from some people. Noticed there were “Adult Fans of LEGO”, they call ’em AFOLs. We started talking, sharing tips and stuff. It’s a whole community, I tell ya. I felt like I discovered a whole different world I knew nothing about. So I made a decision, I built up a little following and started sharing my own stuff on a blog. It’s nothing fancy, just me messing around with LEGO and sharing it with whoever’s interested.
So, what do I do now? I buy a lot. I mean, there are people out there making a living just buying and selling LEGO. It’s crazy. It is all I have been doing all the time, sorting things by color or whatever. I just keep buying and building. I share some of my tips from my experience and sometimes it’s just me rambling about the latest set I got my hands on.
That’s pretty much my LEGO story. From simple bricks to a whole world of collecting, building, and sharing. It’s been a fun journey, and I’m still going. Who knew these little plastic blocks could be so much?
