Alright, so the other day I was messing around in my favorite game again, trying to get my hands on some corundum ingots. You know, the usual grind. But this time, I needed to know the item ID for it because I wanted to try a different way to get them through the console. I did some digging and here’s what I did.
I opened up the console, which is always the first step. Then I started browsing the internet looking up “corundum ingot id”. It is really a messy search result, there is a lot of unrelated information. For example, some strange sentences about “County Lookup” or “Ankeny”. I have no idea what they are. I think they might be some kind of address database? Anyway, I skipped them.
There are also some home sale information that are probably from some real estate agency. I guess their SEO works well but it’s none of my business. So I just ignored them and kept digging.
Finally, I found a few sites that listed item IDs. I quickly tried them in my game by the “*” command. I tried one and I think that worked but, I was not really sure. You know, sometimes these IDs can be a bit off, depending on your game version or whatever mods you have loaded.
Here’s what I found about the corundum ingot ID:
- First, I used the common ID for a corundum ingot. I have forgotten what it is, just a combination of digits and letters. It’s easy to find on most gaming wikis. I typed it in and boom, a corundum ingot appeared in my inventory. That was a relief, but I still needed more.
- Then, I tried another ID that was listed on a different site. This one was a bit longer and also, I don’t know why, it didn’t work initially. I double-checked the ID, made sure I typed it correctly, and tried again. After a few attempts, it finally worked. I’m not sure if it was a glitch or something on my end, but I was just glad to see more ingots popping up.
So, after all that, I managed to get a bunch of corundum ingots using the console. It was a bit of a hassle with some of the IDs not working right away, but I got there in the end.
I spent a lot of time to get them, but it is just a game. I think people should not spend too much time on gaming, or at least not as much as I did. There are a lot of other meaningful things in our life.
Gaming is fun, but let’s not forget the real world. Gotta keep things balanced, right?
