Okay, so I was thinking, “where can i buy cheap bricks?” I needed some bricks for a little DIY project I had in mind – nothing fancy, just a small wall in my backyard. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, though.
First, I did some digging online. Turns out, the average cost is around $0.55 per brick. But there are so many different types, and some can go up to $30 each! That’s crazy. I just wanted normal bricks, you know?
Then I found out about these places called brickworks or brick factories. They’re the ones making the bricks. I thought, “Maybe I can buy directly from them?” But it seemed like they mostly deal with big orders, not some guy who needs a few hundred bricks.
I stumbled upon some information about common bricks, the kind used for basic stuff. They’re like 200 to 350 for 1000 bricks. I also read about engineering bricks which are strong and cost a bit more, but I didn’t really need those.
I also saw something about products from China. They offer customizable stuff, which is cool, but again, I don’t need anything fancy, and I don’t have the need to order a large quantity of bricks. I’m not a contractor or anything.
- I browsed some online stores, and there were so many options.
- Prices varied a lot, and it was hard to know which ones were actually a good deal.
- I checked out some local hardware stores, too.
I found some used bricks which were cheaper, which are quite nice, but the quantity is not enough, and I am worrying about the quality, I have to give up.
Finally, I asked some friends who’ve done similar projects. One of them gave me a contact of a small brick supplier. The guy was super helpful and had decent prices, around $0.40 per brick, just nice for me. I ended up getting my bricks from him. The quality is acceptable, and the delivery is quite fast.
My Little Tips
- Ask around. Your friends might know someone.
- Don’t be afraid to negotiate, especially if you’re buying a lot.
- Check the quality before you buy, if possible.
So yeah, that’s how I found cheap bricks for my project. It took a bit of effort, but I saved some money in the end.
