Today, I messed around with those cubic bricks. You know, the concrete blocks that you can find everywhere. It was a fun day and I really had a good time with them.
I got up early this morning and drove to the nearby building supplies store, like Lowes or Sutherlands, I forgot the name. They had all kinds of these concrete blocks, different sizes and styles. I walked around, picked out a few that I liked, and bought them. It was pretty cheap, which was nice. Then, I went home to get started.
My Building Idea
I wanted to make a raised bed for my garden. I saw some cool designs online, and I thought it would be a fun project. So, I started by laying out the blocks in the shape I wanted. It was like playing with giant LEGOs, but much heavier. I had to adjust them a few times to get the shape just right.
The Hard Work
Once I had the layout, I started stacking. I lifted those blocks one by one, placed them carefully, and slowly built up the walls of my raised bed. It was tough work, I won’t lie. Those blocks are heavy, and it was a hot day. But I kept at it, taking breaks when I needed to. I remembered seeing some extra tall ones online, like 32 inches, that would have saved my back, but oh well.
- Lifted the heavy blocks
- Placed them carefully to build the walls
- Took breaks when needed
Finishing Up
After a few hours, I finally finished building the walls. I stepped back and looked at what I had made. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. I filled it with soil and planted some flowers. Now, I have a nice little raised bed in my garden, all thanks to those cubic bricks. It looks pretty good, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
So, that’s how I spent my day playing with cubic bricks. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. If you’re looking for a simple DIY project, I definitely recommend giving it a try. Just remember to lift with your legs, not your back!
