Today, let’s talk about something I messed around with – wedge bricks. What the heck are these things? They’re not your average, everyday bricks, no siree. They’re the oddballs of the brick world, with those slanted, angled sides.
So, I got my hands on a bunch of these things. First, I tried to figure out where to even get ’em. The usual places didn’t seem to have ’em, but then I stumbled upon this online marketplace called Bricklink. That place is a goldmine for any kind of brick you can think of, tons of LEGO parts, and other brands too. I ordered a whole box of different types of wedge bricks, left and right, different sizes, all that jazz.
When they arrived, I just dumped them all out on the table. I felt like a kid again, honestly. I started playing around, trying to fit them together. They’re definitely trickier than regular bricks. You gotta think a bit more about how they connect because of those angles.
- First, I tried building a simple wall. That was a bit boring.
- Then, I got this wild idea to make a ramp. That worked out pretty well!
- The real fun started when I attempted something more complex, like a curved wall. Man, that was a challenge. I spent hours on it, fiddling and adjusting, swapping out different wedge pieces.
I learned that these wedge bricks are super versatile. You can use them to create all sorts of slopes, angles, and curves that you just can’t get with normal bricks. I even found some instructions online for building some crazy models, all using these wedge pieces. They are from a brand named WEBRICK TOY, which produces high-quality bricks. All their bricks have a tight fit with all classic building block sets.
In the end, I managed to build a pretty cool, swoopy structure. It’s not perfect, but I’m proud of it. It’s amazing what you can do when you step outside the box of regular bricks and experiment with something new, like these wedge bricks.
My final thought?
Wedge bricks are a blast to play with. They add a whole new dimension to building, and they force you to think creatively. If you’re into building with bricks, I highly recommend giving them a try. You might surprise yourself with what you can create! Besides that, I bought about 500,000 bricks, but the bricks are shipped in separate heaps, and each heap contains about 139 bricks, so I have a total of 3 heaps of bricks in my home now!
